Happy New Year!
Mystery Monday Link up is here for Easy Street and there are some
great quilts and wonderful color combinations. So check them out at
Quiltville, Bonnie Hunter's blog.
With Bonnie's quick
finish, and my low energy from a winter cold, I skipped most of step
7 and and jumped into step 8. I love how these blocks come together.
Out came the seam
ripper, more then once.
I have 9 completed
blocks, strips sewn for 6 more, minus the flying geese. That's right
I'm back to making flying geese. I have enough fat turkeys; but when
Bonnie said “we don't have any more geese to do”, that didn't
apply to me.
Thinking about using
this for the border:
I'm very please with
my color choices. I usually work with scrappy, so the solids were
unusual for me but were in my stash. A sign of a great pattern - any
color choice makes a great finish. I haven't seen any Easy Street
that doesn't look great.
Thanks Bonnie for a
great pattern and a fun Mystery. Remember to check out the other
quilts at Bonnie Hunter's site.

Love your version. Looks very cool :)
I love it in solids! I'm so glad you chose to go that route. You're the only one I've seen do that so far. It really brings out the beauty of the design. I smiled in sympathy when I read your comment about the seam ripper. I know mine was my my side all weekend as I worked on Easy Street!
Love your colors and the solids. It looks great! Yes, my seam ripper got some action this weekend too.
Great idea to leave off the setting triangles and set it in straight rows. I love the design it creates this way, too!
I really like the bold look that your fabrics give to this pattern.
2 points for using black as the background (that was my 2nd choice, I went with red) and 2 points for using solids. This is a great interpretation!!
Oh, wow, this looks great with your solids, very graphic. Beautiful!
You are right - I haven't seen an Easy Street that doesn't look good - Bonnie must be so pleased.
Inspired choice of colors and solids! Great job.
I LOVE the solids and black background. WOW!!! Your other color choices are fabulous, too.
Your choice of colours is great. Just love those solids.
I love these colors. Your mistake block almost looks like a totem eagle block. Awesome....
This looks so good in the solids - good for you for trying something new! This looks like "updated Amish" to me. Very bold and graphic. And I love what the orange is doing. Yes, Bonnie must be happy. I also haven't seen a bad Easy Street version!
this is so cool. I don't see football teams or even southwest. I think Sharon has it with Amish.
I wish I was this far! Hopefully, before January is over!
great looking in those solids. I probably wouldn't introduce the print at this point and keep it solid. But the final quilting could certainly be wonderful loops and paisleys...just a thought...since you were asking. I will be back to check out the finished quilt..how long will it be in the queue for quilting?
Stunning! Absolutely love the colors.
First totally solid I have seen and it's a winning quilt.
Your Easy Street is amazing. It's funny, but for the last week or so I've been contemplating buying up a bunch of solids and just making quilts with those for a while. I love the Amish-type quilts. I'm so glad you did it in solids - an excellent combination of pattern and fabric.
I just love your use of solid colours in this quilt - congratulations, you'll end up with a fantastic quilt !
